Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: "The Prophet (ﷺ) offered as sacrifice at Hudaybiyyah a camel that belonged to Abu Jahl, which had a silver nose-ring (in another version: gold), to anger the polytheists."

Chapter-heading commentary
(1) "Nor the garlands": This establishes the legitimacy of garlanding sacrificial animals by Quran and Sunnah. (Al-Jawharah al-Nayyirah)
(2) "For you therein is good": This indicates the permissibility of riding sacrificial camels, as the "good" includes riding and milking. ('Umdat al-Qari)
(3) "When lined up": The strongest evidence for slaughtering while standing is this verse, interpreted by Ibn Abbas as "standing on three legs" (left foreleg tied). Abu Dawud authentically reported this. (Al-Maraqi)

(۱) قوله: ولا القلائد فيثبت شرعية التقليد بالكتاب والسنة. كذا في «الجوهرة النيرة».
(۲) قوله : لكم فيها خير : موضع الاستدلال في جواز ركوب البدن في قوله: ﴿لَكُمْ فِيهَا خَيْرٌ (الحج: ٣٦) يعني من الركوب والحلب. كذا في عمدة القاري».
(۳) قوله: صواف استدلال النحر قياما بقوله تعالى: ﴿فَاذْكُرُوا اسْمَ اللهِ عَلَيْهَا صَوَافَ (الحج: ٣٦) أظهر، وقد فسرهابن عباس بقوله: قياما على ثلاث قوائم، وهو إنما يكون بعقل الركبة والأولى كونها اليسرى للاتباع، رواه أبو داود بإسناد صحيح على شرط مسلم. كذا في «المرقاة».
(٤) قوله: فإذا وجبت: وإنما من النبي له النحر قياما عملا بظاهر قوله تعالى: ﴿فَإِذَا وَجَبَتْ جُنُوبُهَا﴾ (الحج: ٣٦) والوجوب السقوط، وتحققه في حال القيام أظهر. قاله في «فتح القدير».
