Imran ibn Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: I came to Abu Dharr and found him in the mosque, sitting alone wrapped in a black cloak. I said, “O Abu Dharr, what is this solitude?” He replied: “I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: ‘Solitude is better than an evil companion, and a righteous companion is better than solitude. Speaking good is better than silence, and silence is better than speaking evil.’”
