Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Asceticism in the world is not forbidding the lawful nor wasting wealth, but asceticism in the world is that you are not more trusting in what is in your hands than what is in Allah's hands, and that you are more eager for the reward of affliction when it befalls you as if it were preserved for you."
