Chapter on the Virtues of the Ten Promised Paradise (may Allah be pleased with them)

Zujajat al-Masabih 5886Volume 5

English

Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: Sa’d approached, and the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “This is my maternal uncle; let a man show me 1 his uncle.” [Narrated by At-Tirmidhi] He said: Sa’d was from Banu Zuhrah, and the Prophet’s mother was from Banu Zuhrah, so the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “This is my maternal uncle.” In Al-Masabih, it says “let him honor” instead of “let him show me.” Ibn Hajar said: This is a scribal error.

Note 1

let a man show me

(1) The statement “let a man show me”: With a dammah on the ya and kasrah on the ra, meaning let him make me see a man whose uncle is like mine. The statement “Banu Zuhrah”: With a dammah on the zay, a tribe from Quraysh. (As stated in Al-Mirqat)

Note 1

Note 1
