Narrated by Ali (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "There is none of you except that his place in the Fire and his place in Paradise has been written." The people asked, "O Messenger of Allah, then should we not rely on our fate and abandon action?" He replied, "Do deeds, for each one is facilitated for that for which he was created. As for the one who is among the people of happiness, he will be facilitated to do the deeds of happiness, and as for the one who is among the people of misery, he will be facilitated to do the deeds of misery." Then he recited: {As for him who gives and fears Allah and believes in the best reward} [Al-Lail: 5-6].
