It is narrated from Talq ibn 'Ali that he said: We went as a delegation to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), pledged allegiance to him, and prayed with him. We informed him that we had a church in our land, so we asked him for some of the leftover water from his ablution. He called for water, performed ablution, rinsed his mouth, and then poured it into a container for us. He instructed us, saying, "Go, and when you reach your land, demolish your church and sprinkle this water in its place, then make it a mosque." We said, "The land is far, the journey is difficult, and the water will dry up." He said, "Mix it with water, for it will only increase in purity."
