Narrated by Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him): While we were sitting with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), discussing what would happen in the future, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "When you hear about a mountain being moved from its place, believe it. But when you hear about a man changing his character, do not believe it; for he will return to what he was originally created for."

١١٦ - وَعَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ (رضي الله عنه) قَالَ: بَيْنَمَا نَحْنُ عِنْدَ رَسُوْلِ اللهِ ﷺ نَتَذَاكَرُ مَا يَكُوْنُ، إِذْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: «إِذَا سَمِعْتُمْ بِجَبَلٍ زَالَ عَنْ مَكَانِهِ فَصَدِّقُوْهُ، وَإِذَا سَمِعْتُمْ بِرَجُلٍ تَغَيَّرَ عَنْ خُلُقِهُ فَلَا تُصَدِّقُوْا بِهِ؛ فَإِنَّهُ يَصِيرُ إِلَى مَا جُبِلَ عَلَيْهِ». رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ.

ابو درداء رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے انہوں نے کہا کہ ہم آنحضرت صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی
خدمت میں آئندہ ہونے والی باتوں کا تذکرہ کر رہے تھے کہ آنحضرت صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ
جب تم یہ سنو کہ کوئی پہاڑ اپنی جگہ سے ہٹ گیا ہے تو اس کی تصدیق کر دو، اور اگر یہ سنو کہ کوئی شخص اپنے
پیدائشی اوصاف سے ہٹ گیا ہے تو اس کی تصدیق نہ کرو، اس لئے کہ وہ پھر اسی طرف لوٹ جائے گا
جن (صفات) پر وہ پیدا ہوا ہے۔ (اس کو امام احمد نے روایت کیا ہے)۔
