It is narrated from Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Among the things that benefit a believer after his death are the knowledge he taught and spread, a righteous child he left behind, a Qur'an he bequeathed, a mosque he built, a house for travelers he built, a river he dug, or a charity he gave from his wealth while he was healthy and alive. These things continue to benefit him after his death."
