۳۰۳۸ - وَعَنْ سُوَيْدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ قَالَ: جَلَبْتُ أَنَا وَمَخْرَفَةُ الْعَبْدِيُّ بَرًّا مِنْ هَجَرَ فَأَتَيْنَا بِهِ مَكَّةَ فَجَاءَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَمْشِي، فَسَاوَمَنَا1 بِسَرَاوِيلَ فَبِعْنَاهُ، وَثَمَّ رَجُلٌ يَزِنُ بِالْأَجْرِ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ : إِنْ وَأَرْجِحْ». رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ وَأَبُو دَاوُدَ وَالتَّرْمِذِيُّ وَابْنُ مَاجَه وَالدَّارِمِيُّ، وَقَالَ التَّرْمِذِيُّ: هَذَا حَدِيْثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ.

(1) The statement: “He bargained with us for trousers, so we sold them to him”: There is disagreement about him wearing trousers. Some denied it, citing that ‘Uthman did not wear them on the day he was killed, but it is confirmed that he purchased them. Ibn Al-Qayyim said: It appears he wore them, and they used to wear them in his time. This is stated in Al-Marqah.

(۱) قوله: فساومنا بسراويل فبعناه: اختلفوا في لبسه السراويل، فجزم بعضهم بعدمه، واستأنس بأن عثمان لم يلبسه لا يوم قتل، لكن صح شراؤه، وقال ابن القيم: الظاهر أنه لبسه، وكانوا يلبسونه في زمانه. كذا في «المرقاة».
