English

Abdullah ibn Mas‘ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: On the day of Badr, every three of us shared one camel. Abu Lubabah and Ali ibn Abi Talib were the riding companions of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). When it was the Prophet’s turn to walk, they said: "We will walk for you." He said: "1 You are not stronger than me, and I am not less in need of reward than you."

You are not stronger than me, and I am not less in need of reward than you

(1) The statement: "You are not stronger than me, and I am not less in need of reward than you": At-Tayyibi said: This shows the utmost humility of the Prophet (ﷺ), his mutual support with his companions, and his neediness before Allah, the Exalted. As stated in (Al-Mirqat).
