Rabah ibn ar-Rabi‘ narrated: We were with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) on an expedition. He saw people gathered around something and sent a man, saying: “See what they are gathered around.” He returned and said: “Around a slain woman.” He said: “She was not one to fight.” Khalid ibn al-Walid was leading the vanguard, so he sent a man, saying: “Tell Khalid not to kill a woman or a hired servant 1.”
