Abu Usayd (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: On the day of Badr, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “When they approach you in large numbers, shoot them with arrows, but do not draw your swords until they overwhelm you.”

٣٨٩١ - وَعَنْهُ رضي الله عنه ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُوْلُ اللّهِ صلي الله عليه واله وسلم يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ: (إِذَا أَكْتَبُوكُمْ فَارْمُوهُمْبِالنَّبْلِ، وَلَا تَسُلُّوا السُّيُوفَ حَتّى يَغْشَوْكُمْ). رَوَاهُ أَبُوْ دَاوُدَ.
