Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: The Prophet (ﷺ) said: The Jews and Christians do not dye their hair, so differ from them 3 .

(3) The statement: "so differ from them": Therefore, it is recommended for a man to dye his hair and beard, even outside of war, according to the stronger opinion, but not his hands or feet, as that is disliked for resembling women. This is derived from Al-Durr al-Mukhtar and Radd al-Muhtar.
