Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Allah created creation; when finished, kinship arose and held the waist of the Merciful. He said to it: ‘Stop.’ It said: ‘This is the place of one seeking refuge with You from severing.’ He said: ‘Are you not satisfied that I maintain who maintains you and sever who severs you?’ It said: ‘Yes, O Lord.’ He said: ‘That is for you.’”
