English

Harithah ibn Wahb (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “The harsh and rude will not enter Paradise.” He said: “The harsh is the coarse and rough.”

[Narrated by Abu Dawud in his Sunan, Al-Bayhaqi in Shu’ab al-Iman, and the author of Jami’ al-Usul from Harithah. In Sharh as-Sunnah from him, the wording is: “The harsh and rude will not enter Paradise.” It is said: The rude is the coarse and rough. In some versions of Al-Masabih, from Ikrimah ibn Wahb, the wording is: “The harsh is one who gathers and withholds, and the rude is the coarse and rough.”]
