Sufyan Ath-Thawri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: "Wealth was disliked in the past, but today it is the shield of the believer. And he said: Were it not for these dinars, these kings would have trampled us. And he said: Whoever has something of this in his hand, let him rectify it; for it is a time when, if one is in need, he will be the first to abandon his religion. And he said: The lawful does not tolerate extravagance."
