Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “I will be the first for whom the earth splits, then Abu Bakr, then Umar, then I will go to the people of Baqi‘, and they will be gathered with me. Then I will wait 1 for the people of Makkah until I am gathered between the two sanctuaries.”

Note 1
(1) His statement “Then I will wait for the people of Makkah until I am gathered between the two sanctuaries”: In Al-Mirqat: It appears that he (ﷺ) waits for the people of Makkah at Baqi‘ until they gather, then they proceed to the place of gathering, the land of Sham, where they join the rest of creation.
Note 1
