Uthman ibn Abi al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: I said, "O Messenger of Allah, Satan has placed a barrier between me and my prayer and between me and my recitation. He confuses it for me." The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "That is Satan, called Khanzab. When you feel him, seek refuge with Allah from him and spit lightly to your left three times." So I did that, and Allah removed him from me.
