Narrated by Nu‘man ibn Bashir: "I know the time for this prayer, the last night prayer (Isha). The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would pray it when the moon had completely set, around the third part of the night."

٨٠٦ - وَعَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ (رضي الله عنه) قَالَ: أَنَا أَعْلَمُ بِوَقْتِ هَذِهِ الصَّلَاةِ: صَلَاةِ الْعِشَاءِ الْآخِرَةِ، كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلَّيْهَا لِسُقُوْطِ الْقَمَرِ لِثَالِثَةٍ. رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُدَ وَالدَّارِمِيُّ.

نعمان بن بشیر رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے، انہوں نے کہا کہ میں اس نماز یعنی
نمازِ عشاء کے وقت سے جو بی واقف ہوں نمازِ عشاء کو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم تیسری تاریخ کا چاند
ڈوبنے کے وقت ادا فرمایا کرتے تھے۔ (اس کی روایت ابوداؤد اور دارمی نے کی ہے۔)
