Narrated by Ubadah ibn al-Samit (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "The first thing that Allah created was the Pen. He said to it: 'Write.' The Pen asked: 'What should I write?' He replied: 'Write the decree.' So, it wrote what was and what will be until the end of time."

۸۹ - وَعَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ (رضي الله عنه) قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُوْلُ اللهِ ﷺ: «إِنَّ أَوَّلَ مَا خَلَقَ اللهُ الْقَلَمُ، فَقَالَ لَهُ: اكْتُبْ، قَالَ: مَا أَكْتُبُ؟ قَالَ: اكْتُبِ الْقَدَرَ. فَكَتَبَ مَا كَانَ وَمَا هُوَ كَائِنٌ إلَى الْأَبَدِ». رَوَاهُ التَّرْمِذِيُّ وَقَالَ: هَذَا حَدِيْثٌ غَرِيبٌ إِسْنَادًا.

عبادہ بن صامت رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے
ارشاد فرمایا: بے شک اللہ تعالیٰ نے پہلی چیز جس کو پیدا کیا وہ قلم ہے، پس اللہ تعالیٰ نے فرمایا کہ
لکھ دے قلم نے کہا کہ کیا لکھوں؟ فرمایا کہ (ہر چیز کی) تقدیر لکھ دے تو قلم نے جو کچھ ہوا، اور جو کچھ
ابد تک ہونے والا ہے سب لکھ دیا۔ (ترمذی نے اس کی روایت کی ہے)۔
