It is narrated from Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Two things are hung around the necks of the Mu'adhdhins of the Muslims: their fasting and their prayer."

نے فرمایا کہ مسلمانوں کے دو چیزوں کی ذمہ داری مؤذن کی گردن پر ہے: (1) ایک تو مسلمانوں کے
روزوں کی ذمہ داری اور (2) دوسرے مسلمانوں کے نمازوں کی ذمہ داری (اس لئے مؤذن کو چاہئے
کہ صحیح وقت اذان دے تاکہ نماز اور روزوں میں خلل نہ ہو)۔
(اس کی روایت ابن ماجہ نے کی ہے۔)
