Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: A Bedouin came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and said, "Teach me some words to say." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Say: 'La ilaha illa Allahu wahdahu la sharika lahu, Allahu Akbaru kabeera, walhamdulillahi katheera, subhanAllahi Rabbil-'alameen, la hawla wa la quwwata illa billahil-'Azeezil-Hakeem' (There is no god but Allah alone, without partner, Allah is the Greatest, all praise is due to Allah abundantly, glory be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, there is no power nor strength except with Allah, the Almighty, the Wise)." The Bedouin asked, "These are for my Lord, but what is for me?" The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Say: 'Allahumma-ghfir li warhamni wahdini warzuqni' (O Allah, forgive me, have mercy on me, guide me, and provide for me)."

٢٧٧٦ - وَعَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ (رضي الله عنه) قَالَ: جَاءَ أَعْرَابِيُّ إِلَى رَسُوْلِ اللهِ ، فَقَالَ: عَلَّمْنِي كَلَامًا أَقُولُهُ، قَالَ: «قُلْ: لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ كَبِيرًا، وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ كَثِيرًا، سُبْحَانَ اللهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ، لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ الْعَزِيزِ الْحَكِيمِ، فَقَالَ: فَهَؤُلَاءِ لِرَبِّي فَمَا لِي؟ قَالَ: «قُلْ : اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَارْحَمْنِي وَاهْدِنِي وَارْزُقْنِي. شَلَّ الرَّاوِي فِي عَافِنِي. رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ.

عرب رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی خدمت اقدس میں حاضر ہوئے اور عرض کیا کہ: مجھے کوئی ایسا
ذکر بتا دیجئے جس کو میں وظیفہ کے طور پر پڑھتا رہوں تو آپ نے ان کو یہ کلمات تعلیم فرمایا: لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا
الْعَالَمِينَ، لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللّٰهِ الْعَزِيزِ الْحَكِيمِ ”انہوں نے کہا: یا رسول اللہ یہ کلمات تو
میرے رب کی ثناء کے لئے ہیں۔ (اس کو تو میں پڑھتا رہوں گا) اب میرے لئے کوئی دعاء بتلائیے
جس کو میں پڑھوں تو حضور صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ان کو یہ دعاء تعلیم فرمائی اَللّٰهُمَّ اغْفِرْلِيْ
وَارْحَمْنِيْ وَاهْدِنِيْ وَارْزُقْنِيْ وَ عَافِنِيْ. اس کی روایت مسلم نے کی ہے۔
