Hadith 3104

Abd Allah bin Qurt (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from the Prophet (ﷺ): “The greatest of days in the sight of Allah, Blessed and Exalted, is the Day of Sacrifice, followed by the Day of Rest.” Thawr said: “It is the second day.” He added: Five or six camels were brought near to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), and they began pressing forward toward him to see which one he would begin with. When their sides had collapsed [i.e., they had been slaughtered], he uttered a quiet statement which I did not understand. I asked: “What did he say?” It was said: “Whoever wishes may cut from it.”
