Narrated by Sahl ibn Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "A servant may do the deeds of the people of Hell, and yet he is from the people of Paradise. He may do the deeds of the people of Paradise, and yet he is from the people of Hell. Indeed, actions are judged by their endings."

۷۸ - وَعَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ (رضي الله عنه) قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُوْلُ اللهِ ﷺ: «إِنَّ الْعَبْدَ لَيَعْمَلُ عَمَلَ أَهْلِ النَّارِ وَإِنَّهُ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ، وَيَعْمَلُ عَمَلَ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ وَإِنَّهُ مِنْ أَهْلِ النَّارِ. وَإِنَّمَا الْأَعْمَالُ بِالْخَوَاتِيْمِ». مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ.

سہل بن سعد رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ کہا کہ آنحضرت صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے
فرمایا: بیشک بندہ دوزخیوں کا عمل کرتا ہے، حالانکہ وہ اہل جنت سے ہے اور بندہ جنتیوں کا عمل کرتا ہے
حالانکہ دوزخی ہے۔ اعمال کا اعتبار خاتمہ پر ہی ہے۔ (بخاری اور مسلم نے بالاتفاق اس کی روایت کی ہے)۔
