Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: "The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to turn to his right and say, 'Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah,' until the whiteness of his right cheek could be seen, and to his left, 'Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah,' until the whiteness of his left cheek could be seen." [Narrated by Abu Dawud, Al-Nasa’i, and Al-Tirmidhi, though Al-Tirmidhi did not mention, "until the whiteness of his cheek could be seen."]
Ibn Majah also narrated it from Ammar ibn Yasir. Al-Tirmidhi said: "The most authentic narrations from the Prophet (peace be upon him) are two Salam, and this is the view of the majority of the scholars among the companions of the Prophet (peace be upon him), the Tabi'in, and those after them."

۱۳۱۱ - وَعَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَسْعُوْدٍ (رضي الله عنه) قَالَ: إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُسَلِّمُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ: السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ، حَتَّى يُرَى بَيَاضُ خَدِّهِ الْأَيْمَنِ، وَعَنْ يَسَارِهِ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ، حَتَّى يُرَى بَيَاضُ خَدِّهِ الْأَيْسَرِ. رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُدَ وَالنَّسَائِيُّ وَالتَّرْمِذِيُّ وَلَمْ يَذْكُرِ التَّرْمِذِيُّ حَتَّى يُرَى بَيَاضُ خَدِّهِ». وَرَوَاهُ ابْنِ مَاجَهِ عَنْ عَمَّارِ بْنِ يَاسِرٍ .
قَالَ التَّرْمِذِيُّ: وَأَصَحُ الرِوَايَاتِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ تَسْلِيمَتَانِ، وَعَلَيْهِ أَكْثَرُ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَالتَّابِعِينَ وَمَنْ بَعْدَهُمْ انْتَهَى

عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے، آپ فرماتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی
اللہ علیہ وسلم (ختم نماز پر) اپنی داہنی طرف چہرہ مبارک پھیرتے ہوئے ”السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ
اللّٰهِ“، فرماتے تھے یہاں تک کہ حضور علیہ الصلوٰۃ والسلام کے سیدھے رخسار مبارک کی سفیدی پیچھے
والوں کو دکھائی دیتی تھی اور پھر بائیں جانب چہرہ مبارک پھیرتے ہوئے السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ
اللّٰهِ فرماتے تھے یہاں تک کہ (پیچھے والوں کو) آپ کے بائیں رخسار مبارک کی سفیدی نظر آجاتی تھی
(اس کی روایت ابوداؤد، نسائی اور ترمذی نے کی ہے۔)
اور ابن ماجہ نے بھی عمار بن یاسر رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت کی ہے اور ترمذی نے
کہا ہے کہ نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے نماز کو سلام سے ختم کرنے کے بارے میں جتنی روایتیں آئی ہیں ان
میں سب سے زیادہ صحیح حدیث یہ ہے کہ نماز کے ختم پر دو سلام ہیں اور اسی پر نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے
